The Vatican to use iPad App for Mass:
The free missal app developed by Rev. Paolo Padrini, an Italian priest who consults with the Vatican, launches an iPad app containing the complete Roman Missal. This is not the first application built by Rev. Padrini, previously he has developed an iPhone app called the iBreviary, which contains the book of daily prayers used by priests. 200,000 people have downloaded it as of date.

iPads could start appearing on altars in the next few weeks which is the beginning of July 2010. The main purpose of building this app was to provide priests with the flexibility to have the missal with them as and when required. He has developed this app with his own money and no funds have been provided by the Vatican.
The Vatican has all praise for Rev Padrini on his innovative way to deliver the word of God. The Vatican have been using Web2.0 actively especially to give regular updates to the youth of today. They already have a presence on Facebook and YouTube.
The application will be updated again next year with the updated sections of the missal, as for the first time in 30 years there are changes schedule to happen on the Missal.
