Firstly lets look at what is a page rank – Its a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. PageRank is Google’s way of deciding the importance of a page. It isn’t the only factor that Google uses to rank pages, but it is an important one. PageRank is also known as “PR”. A page with a higher PageRank is deemed more important and is more likely to be listed above a page with a lower PageRank.

How can you improve your Pagerank?

• Create content that users want and will share with others.
• Publicize your site to everyone with whom you communicate.
• Write a newsletter and send it out.
• Provide a RSS feed that people could subscribe to, this makes it easy for other sites to distribute your headlines and content.
• Request other high-quality websites to link to your website. Please note that its always better to request linking to websites that are in the same industry. If Google suspects that you’ve traded links for the sole purpose of improving your ranking, it might penalize or blacklist your site.
• Try and gain lots of web PR for your website.
• Give away content.
• Instead of going and typing your website URL directly, always search for your website through google. This will improve the ranking of your site as google gives a higher ranking for websites that are searched versus websites that get no traffic from Google.
