It's strange but true that people on a job like to be appreciated and loved. They all want a sense of belonging. Recently while working on a project I noticed for some god damn reason people from my team working on other projects would come up to me and confide in all work related issues. I would listen and give comments where I thought that I could add value such as where to go and find this or that information, etc. The one issue which stood out was about being part of a team and how the Team Manager wasContinue Reading
How do you go about estimating your time on a project for gathering requirements for a specific project? This gets a bit tricky.
How much detail of the project is already know, how complex is the project, what is the technology used, what current system would have impacts on this project, how much time and effort is the business spending on providing you the requirements?
To be able to estimate this, the first and most difficult task that needs to be committed is to know the number and availability of the key stakeholders. Once you have this Block two hours essentially withContinue Reading
The only way to do that is to cut the Mammoth into small slices. Slices should be like the regular cheese slices that we use on our sandwiches, these slices should be small enough because the sole purpose of cutting this Mammoth is to make it possible for humans (business users) to eat it.

It would be a dream come true if business users, developers, testers, management all agreed withContinue Reading

- Process is good. Process is necessary. Create a process that allows for flexibility, speed and change. I have seen companies hire N number of Managers, be it a Programme manager, Test

A year back I was involved in visiting a few vendors for web application development in New Zealand and India. It was weird when vendors spoke about their development methodology and why one is better than the other. I asked myself and a few of my guru friends the same question whether it mattered if it was Agile or Waterfall methodology?
The simple answer is NO it does not. But with every opinion there are numerous BUT’s, Read on to make your own decision.
