Facebook says that it has removed ads for a get rich quick scam that appeared on the site for weeks before being noticed by staff. Users still report that some of the ads remain on the site and are being re-published at a rate faster than the site can review. The ads appear as signed up to post links under a "Google advertising" programme. The scam invites users to a page, run by a company dubbed "EMillionaire". Microsoft research has released a paper about a Web browser it calls Gazelle. This web browser is constructed in such a way so as to to act like an operating system with the browser protecting resources and sharing across Web sites.
According to Microsoft no existing browsers is like Gazelle, this includes browsers based on new architectures, Gazelle has a multi-principal operating system constructed in such a way that provides the browser-based OS exclusive control to manage the protection of all system resources.

People can now send a special link to their friends so that friends can easily add their own comments to videos. With the widespread protests against New Zealand's copyright law that was suppose to come into existence this month, government officials recognize that something is wrong. The government is hoping that ISPs can come up with a "code of practice" to help deal with copyright infringement online. The delay is for another month to allow ISP to hae some time.A large number of websites and blogs blacked out their sites to raise awareness about the issue.

Feb 2009 was a month for twitter. Recently Twitter closed a $35m (NZ$68.1m) round of venture capital investment at a valuation of about $250m during the economic crisis. Secondly a research from Pew internet and American Life Project revealed that 11 per cent of Americans have used a service such as Twitter, Third, in a survey of 200 top digital marketing of which social media service is the most effective financial investment for businesses - Twitter getting 40 per cent and Facebook only 15 per cent of the vote.
